When you write comments or contribute to vastervik.com, you must observe these rules:
COMMENTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS
You must act as a private person
Anyone submitting contributions, reviews, tips etc shall act in their capacity as a private person and never for a commercial purpose unless otherwise agreed.
Business entries are not permitted!
It is not permitted to advertise or canvass in the comment field or elsewhere without having first received the explicit authorisation of Västervik’s Tourist Office for this. Advertising for products and services that compete with products and services of Västervik’s Tourist Office is not permitted. Nor is it permitted to contribute if the person who posted the contribution or someone close to that person may be suspected of receiving any financial gain whatsoever from the message, either now or in the future. Repeated recommendations of products/services by the same/different contributors will be regarded as commercial even if no clear link exists. Västervik’s Tourist Office always has the final say in these matters.
If you should wish to market yourself as a business person on vastervik.com, you are welcome to contact Christoffer Olsson at Västervik’s Tourist Office by e-mailing christoffer.olsson[a]vastervik.se.
Surveys, student projects, market research polls etc are not permitted
Entries/comments directed at a group of members with the aim of consulting these, canvassing opinions and the like for any use other than out of purely private interest are not permitted. Send any items of this kind instead to Christoffer Olsson at Västervik’s Tourist Office (see above) and we may be able to post an announcement.
Mass entries/comments, so-called cross-postings, are not permitted
It is not permitted to write entries/comments with the same message/subject in more than one location at vastervik.com
Mass mailing
Mass mailing to e-mail addresses shown in comments, images, films and reports at vastervik.com is not permitted.
Language and personal attacks
Use reasonable, normal written language. It’s okay to write contributions in Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, German and English – but you may not request that replies to the contribution/comment shall be written in any language other than Swedish.
Irony does not work very well in a written context, and so it should be avoided as far as possible. If you wish to be ironic, it may be necessary to mark this with some form of smiley or text (ironic) to make this clear.
It goes without saying that attacks on individuals, ethnicity, gender or religion are not permitted.
Don’t discuss other people
Don’t discuss people or their statements without giving them an opportunity to participate in the discussion from the start. This is especially important if the person is being criticised. Never disclose personally addressed correspondence in an entry without the permission of the other party.
Inviting others to break the law
Inviting or encouraging others to break the law (e.g. tips on pirate copying or tax crime) is not permitted.
Västervik’s Tourist Office can delete entries/comments without giving notification of this
Entries that do not comply with these simple rules may be deleted without further comment by Västervik’s Tourist Office.
Let us know if you feel you have been attacked, insulted etc.
If you think you have been insulted or attacked, contact Västervik’s Tourist Office directly and we’ll try to resolve the issue.
UPLOADING MATERIAL
Copyright
You may only publish texts, images and films if you have copyright and the right to publish them. Publishing in this case means uploading or inserting on/linking to vastervik.com. If you do not own the copyright for the text, image or film, you can link to this elsewhere on the Internet.
If you want to upload something for which you have received permission for uploading from the originator, Västervik’s Tourist Office must be informed of this before uploading takes place. Read more about this in the section on copyright and liability.
Image rules
You are responsible for the images you publish on vastervik.com. If you didn’t take the picture yourself and are uncertain whether you have the right to publish it, you may not upload it under any circumstances. You never have the right to scan images from newspapers or get them from the Internet.
Film rules
You are responsible for the films you publish on vastervik.com. If you didn’t produce the material yourself and are uncertain whether you have the right to publish it, you may not upload it under any circumstances. You never have the right to use copyright-protected film music and sound in your material.
COPYRIGHT AND LIABILITY
The content of vastervik.com is covered by Swedish copyright legislation. Vastervik.com shall be judged according to Swedish legislation.
The copyright symbol on vastervik.com and all pages means that the design and structure are owned by Västervik’s Tourist Office and may not be copied or used without permission. The copyright to texts and images is held by the respective photographer or writer. The content and design may not be used, stored or sent in any form without permission.
Unless otherwise agreed, Västervik’s Tourist Office has a non-exclusive right that is not limited in time to publish without special remuneration texts, images, films and other information submitted by users on the website vastervik.com and its sub-domains. Västervik’s Tourist Office also has the right to publish screenshots and the like in other media, to illustrate the website for marketing purposes.
For functions in which users and readers themselves publish a text, image or film on vastervik.com, it is the case that each person submitting material is responsible for the content. The material may not be insulting, result in agitation against an ethnic group, be racist, show illegal images or infringe the copyright of others.
Unless otherwise agreed, the period of publication of text, image and film on vastervik.com is unlimited.
Västervik’s Tourist Office is not responsible for the content of websites to which vastervik.com has links or about which it provides information, or for products and services supplied by parties other than Västervik’s Tourist Office.
