Inland & Coastland
The countryside of Småland and vibrant cultural surroundings. A journey along winding roads towards the open sea.
The countryside is special and provides a clear picture of the contrasts which Västervik has to offer. The inland areas are typical of Småland with deep forests, and the coastal areas consist of the barren archipelago with thousands of rocks and cliffs. Like a trip from Bullerbyn to Saltkråkan! Both the coastal and the inland areas invite many experiences. The narrow-gauge railway is an excellent tip if you want to get from the coast to the inland and vice versa. An excellent package trip filled with experiences and adventure associated with Västervik’s nature, culture and history.

Västervik city
Narrow little lanes, sun-drenched pavement cafés and magnificent concerts. It’s great to be here!
The number of towns where you can take a boat straight into town, tie up at the waterfront and walk 10 metres and sit down at a restaurant are few and far between. In Västervik you can do this! The cultural environment among the old town districts which are situated in the centre of town, have a special charm and an interesting history. The city offers, among other things, shopping, cafés and restaurants. The town’s atmosphere is characterised by ”the good life” which is created through songs, music, outdoor life, strolling through the alleyways and along the promenade on the seafront. The boat life’s constant presence also makes an impression.

Boatlife & Archipelago
A true archipelago environment with unspoiled countryside. Welcome to Sweden’s most beautiful archipelago!
Västervik’s archipelago is unique and is often referred to as the most beautiful archipelago in Sweden! This is where you can sail your boat to more than 5000 unexplored islets and skerries. There are several routes that will take you to sandy beaches and the rocky island shores of the archipelago. Communications and services are welldeveloped without compromising the unspoilt nature
and the genuine archipelago environment. There are for instance country stores, restaurants, youth hostels, guest harbours, ferry boats, taxi boats and broadband. For centuries, the marine trade and the handicraft traditions have been strong and this is visible both in and around the archipelago as well as on the mainland.
